I never planned to be a standard letting agent. Honestly, that was the last thing I wanted to be. Before Amhurst, I watched poor management eat into a portfolio's returns, a landlord's time, and their trust. I'd left a stable career in corporate customer service because I wanted to build something with my family instead. Property had always been in my world - my mum, Debbie, has been in it since 1997 with barn conversions, new builds, apartment blocks, and the legal and financial lessons that come with three decades of getting your hands dirty in the industry. Between her construction background and my obsession with process and service, we kept seeing the same problem: landlords being let down by agents who left properties empty for weeks, let refurbs run over budget, dodged calls, and added extra fees nobody could explain. So we built Amhurst Lettings to be the opposite of that. We manage single lets and HMOs across the East Midlands for landlords who think like investors, not hobbyists - people scaling a portfolio, not just collecting one rent cheque.
